Description of the Head of the Department Council

Position: Head of the Department Council:

The head of the department council supervises scientific, administrative and financial affairs in the department within the limits of the policy drawn by the college and department council in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws, regulations and decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1- Proposing the distribution of lectures, courses and other university works to teaching staff members in the department, in order to be presented to the department council.

2- Preparing proposals for assignment to teach from outside the college for the department to be presented to the department council.

3- Proposing a plan to graduate studies and researches for presentation to the department council.   

4- Following up on the implementation of the department and college council decisions and policies in its regard.

5- Supervising the employees in the department and monitoring their work.

6- Maintaining the regulation within the department and informing the college dean of everything that might prejudice the functioning of the department.  

7- Preparing a report at the end of each academic year on the department of scientific, educational, administrative and financial affairs. This report includes a presentation of the aspects of activity in the department, the level of work performance, study affairs, examination and their results, a statement of obstacles which encountered in implementation, and proposals for appropriate solutions. This report is presented to the department council for presentation to the College Council.
