The Ethical Characteristics of Nursing Profession:

First, the patient and the nurse: 

1- Providing nursing care

2-  Taking into account the priorities when providing nursing care on a professional basis

3- Dealing with the patient as a human being

4- Inform the patient or whomever he calls from his close relatives about the nursing diagnosis of his condition and his participation in decision-making

5- Preserving the patient’s dignity and secrets

6- Helping the dying patient and his family to cope with the dying state

7- Commitment to general safety principles when providing nursing care

8- Defending the principles, rights and interests of the patient

9- Cooperating with colleagues and members of the health team in assessing their role

Secondly, the nursing specialist and his colleagues: –

1- The nurse practitioner builds and maintains a cooperative relationship with his colleagues

2- The nursing specialist takes appropriate measures to protect the patient

3- Mutual respect and good handling and communication

4- Counseling and advice

5- Accept  the counseling and advice

6- The exchange of scientific knowledge and benefit from information

7-  Helping for the benefit of patients

8- Authorization and assignment of specialized or qualified colleagues for the task

9- Accept authorization and assignment from colleagues.

Third, specialist nursing and practice: –

1- The nursing specialist bears personal responsibility and accountability for his nursing practice

2- The nursing specialist maintains his health condition and does not expose himself to danger

3- The nursing specialist distinguishes his competence and his ability to perform any nursing procedure

4- The nursing specialist at all times maintains standards of personal illness

5- The nursing specialist in providing care makes sure that the most advanced scientific techniques and methods are used

6- The nursing specialist maintains the property of the institution that he works

Fourth, specialist nursing and profession: –

1-The nursing specialist assumes the greatest role in defining and implementing acceptable standards for nursing practice

2- The nursing specialist has an active role in developing professional knowledge

3- Contribute to professional development by applying modern science

4- Self-development by participating in scientific seminars and conferences

5- Not to do any acts that harm the profession

6- Participation in union work

7- Collaborate with colleagues and all members of the health team

8- Commitment to the approved laws, regulations and work standards

9- Dealing with a spirit of trust and mutual support for the team

10 – Defending the profession of nursing and nurses

11- Defending, protecting and serving the union

Fifthly, the nursing and community specialist: –

1- Improving and creating a social environment that provides nursing care

2-  The nursing specialist shares the responsibility with the community in supporting  the needs of the community

3- The nursing specialist shares the responsibility with the community in protecting the natural environment

4- Contribute to realizing  the various health needs of society

5- Taking into account the customs and traditions followed in the local community

6Protecting society from practitioners who do not have the necessary scientific and practical competence

7- Spreading health awareness and providing advice to different groups of society

8- Not to exploit professional knowledge in actions that violate the laws and regulations of society
